Some people think that when it comes to ebook writing, you can worry about the marketing later and think about writing the book first. This is the first mistake that beginner e-book writers make. In reality, when you’re writing an ebook, you should already have everything planned out.
Ebook Writing Tips:
Identify your readers
Before even writing your material, you should already know who your readers are. As in any marketing strategy, identifying your target audience helps you figure out their needs. You wouldn’t want to go on and on about general things that everyone already knows. As much as possible, keep the general things in the foreword, the move on with the specifics. Make a sketch of who your target readers are. These could be readers that are most likely to download your product, readers you think you can most relate to, or both.
After listing of all the characteristics of your target readers, you can then go into the details of what you think they’ll need. If you have the time and resources for it, you should conduct a survey first. This will help you figure out what tone to use when you write, and what subtopics to include in the writing of your product.
Package your ebook well
Sometimes, the success of your e-book lies in how well you package it. Packaging your product starts from the title. Just make sure that the title is edgier then that of your competitor’s. Since you already know who your target readers are, setting the tone of the title should also be easy.
If you can afford it, you can include freebies with every purchase. These freebies could be a set of compendium e-books you’ve already written in the past, a newsletter subscription, or an exclusive access to your website which has audio lessons pertaining to the same subject matter.
